Overview

Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water, wastewater, and recycled water facilities. We are seeking a Principal Advanced Treatment Engineer to support our work in advanced treatment process evaluation and selection, design, startup & commissioning, and ongoing O&M support.

Responsibilities

  • Independently leads technical evaluation of treatment process evaluation and selection for complex advanced treatment projects for industrial and potable reuse, or drinking water applications through basis of design phase, with a focus on UV and UVAOP processes. 
  • Participates actively in technical innovation for advanced process design. 
  • Coordinates with detailed design teams for final design delivery. 
  • Develops plans for and leads advanced treatment process startup and commissioning. Provides support for ongoing O&M and troubleshooting. 
  • Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a far-reaching impact on extensive engineering and relative activities of the company
  • Active in professional associations, including presentations of technical papers, member of technical committees, and authorship of technical manuals.
  • Travel required when requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
  • 20+ years of advanced treatment experience in the field of environmental consulting engineering with an emphasis in UV and UVAOP
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer
  • Demonstrate creative, foresight and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
  • Proficient in public speaking roles
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
