As part of the city’s response to the damage from the Grizzly Creek fire that burned in Western Colorado in 2020, the City of Glenwood Springs and Carollo coordinated an emergency response effort to design a pre-sedimentation treatment system located in No Name Cave. The goal was to remove bulky debris and sediment from the water in the old abandoned city water treatment plant. With some other elements upgraded around the plant, the team saw an increase in capability in terms of dealing with variable water conditions as well as the overall reliability.
