Glenwood Springs Upgrades Water Facility To Prevent Sediment Overload After Grizzly Creek Fire

Thousands of Coloradans will have a reliable water source thanks to major upgrades to the Glenwood Springs watershed. Following the Grizzly Creek Fire in August, concerns about sediment overload from the burn scar prompted the town to bolster sediment and debris flow protections along the water intake at No Name Creek.

Carollo worked with an outstanding team of City of Glenwood Springs staff to develop robust water treatment strategies and to install remote turbidity monitoring to create an early warning system that will help operators make data-driven decisions regarding water supply and treatment.
