WRF/Carollo to prepare guidance for using pipe loops to inform lead and copper corrosion control treatment decisions

EPA’s promulgation of the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) Revisions on January 15, 2021, focused on further reducing lead in drinking water, impacts all water systems in the United States. For some systems, the LCR Revisions could require pipe loop testing to identify or re-optimize corrosion control treatment. Carollo is conducting new research in tandem with The Water Research Foundation, the Cornwell Engineering Group, and other consulting and water utility team members on “fit for purpose” pipe loops, which can help tailor and inform lead and copper corrosion control treatment decisions.
