Carollo Engineers, Inc. Takes the Stage at the First Ever Resilient Utility Coalition Summit

Miami, Florida –This week, Carollo Engineers, will be part of the 2018 inaugural summit hosted by the Resilient Utility Coalition (RUC). Carollo is also a Diamond sponsor of the event. The summit will take place on Thursday January 25 and Friday January 26, 2018.The RUC provides leadership in assessing and helpingutility operations adapt to changing conditions so they can withstand and rapidly recover from disruptions due to emergencies. The purpose of this inaugural summit is to bring together public utility leaders and members of academia and the greater community to help public agencies achieve a greater level of “Operational Resilience.” Attendees will hear presenters and participate in workshops designed to help identify solutions and actions to enhance resilience in our critical water and wastewater infrastructure.

During the summit, three engineers from Carollo will lead key presentations:

  1. Kristiana Dragash: “Leveraging Merged Hydraulic Models to Achieve Distribution System Resiliency and Optimization of Operations”
  2. Pranjali Kumar: “Resilient Utility Planning Through Direct Potable Reuse – A Central Florida City’s Endeavor to Ensure Future Sustainable Potable Water Supplies”
  3. Inge Wiersema: “One Water Los Angeles 2040 Plan: Big, Bold Water Reuse Planning to Make Los Angeles a More Resilient City”

During the summit, the RUC will also empanel their first Board of Directors. Carollo’s Juan Oquendo, P.E. will be a member of this first governing board, and will help the RUC fulfill its mission of developing industry best practices, implementation strategies, and benchmarking to achieve a greater level of resilience for the nation’s crucial public works facilities.
